Conditions of Use

 

The TAC's computer systems are provided for the conduct of the business of the TAC. Access to the TAC Portal is governed by the following conditions:

 

  • Only registered and authorised persons can access the service.

     

  • Users will use all reasonable care to ensure that no other person than those persons authorised use or access the information contained in the service.

     

  • Users will disconnect from the service immediately after use or during periods of inactivity.

     

  • Users will promptly notify the TAC where access is no longer required.

     

  • Passwords and other authentication devices issued to provide access are kept secure to prevent unauthorised access.

     

  • Breaches of security are to be reported to the TAC immediately.

     

  • The service is not used for any purpose that breaches any law or that infringes the civil rights of any person.

     

  • The service contains personal, health and confidential information. Use of this information is therefore subject to the Transport Accident Act 1985 (Vic),
    the Information Privacy Act 2000 (Vic), the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

     

  • Users do not damage the service, including by knowingly uploading or injecting malicious code.

     

  • Unauthorised individuals attempting to access the service may be subject to prosecution or other legal action.

     

  • Activities by any user of this service may be monitored.
